Instructional Facilities & Design - Our Mission

Our mission is to provide students, faculty, staff & administrators the opportunity to fully utilize computing and audiovisual resources in classrooms, labs, conference rooms, collaboration nooks, and reception areas (any room on campus). We will design effective spaces and install the latest, most user-friendly technologies to accomplish any higher education goal.  We are committed to providing the essential support and training to make these spaces work for you.

• Our team is focused on Learning Spaces throughout campus.
• The nature of the work is cyclical, beginning in the Fall, with an emphasis on faculty communication, training & support. Equipment refreshes occur throughout the year during every semester break.
• User feedback is encouraged as we move into a design phase, re-evaluating our standards and looking for opportunities to pilot new technology.
• As technology changes and evolves, the we present significant classroom standard alterations to the GPCAC for approval. These standards form the basis for our budget calculations, as we add new General Purpose classrooms to our centralized support model each Summer.
• These Standards give us a solid platform for numerous design projects campus-wide, and provide continuity for all UNL faculty and staff.
